Privacy Policy
What we collect and how it is used
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you use the Closora app.
1. Information we collect
Account information you provide: email address, display name, and an optional username used for friend search.
Training & usage data we generate as you use the app: lesson progress and XP, weekly leaderboard totals, streaks, AI practice-call scores and grades, and AI usage logs (a session id and token counts) used to enforce daily limits.
Social graph data: friend requests and their status, and — if you join or manage a team — team membership. Team managers can view their members’ progress, streaks, and practice-call scores.
AI conversation content: when you complete a practice call or request coaching, the messages exchanged are transmitted to our AI provider to generate responses.
2. How we use your information
To provide core functionality (auth, lessons, XP, streaks, leaderboards, AI roleplay and coaching), to enforce usage limits, to power social/team features you opt into, and to maintain security and improve the app.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Third-party processors
Supabase — authentication, database, and serverless functions. Receives account info, training/usage data, and social graph.
Anthropic (Claude API) — generates AI roleplay dialogue and post-call coaching. Receives the text of your practice-call messages and coaching requests. The coaching feature may use a web-search tool.
4. Data retention
We retain personal data while your account is active and as needed to provide the app. When you delete your account, active-system data is removed within 30 days; AI usage logs are retained up to 90 days for abuse-prevention and limit enforcement; and encrypted backups are purged on a rolling basis within 30 days.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your data. Contact graysonkendall3@gmail.com to exercise them.
California (CCPA/CPRA): rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale/sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as defined under the CPRA.
EEA/UK (GDPR): the rights above plus the right to complain to your supervisory authority.
6. Children’s privacy
The app is not directed to children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Contact graysonkendall3@gmail.com if you believe a child has provided us data.
7. Security & international transfers
We use access controls and database row-level security, and AI requests are proxied server-side so credentials are never exposed to the app. No system is 100% secure. Data may be processed in other countries by our processors under appropriate safeguards.
